Getting its start in the sawmill and shipbuilding industries, Bay City became an incorporated city in 1865. The city’s history is well reflected in the community, which is now known for its charming downtown, riverwalk, and picturesque parks.

Bay County is filled with community activities and events. The neighborhood celebrates and takes advantage of Michigan’s natural beauty with outdoor festivals, gatherings, and things to do.
 
Known as the Central Park of the county, Wenonah Park is a cherished space in the neighborhood. With regular outdoor concerts, picnic areas, and over six acres of green space, there’s something in the park for everyone to enjoy. The Downtown Bay City Wine Walk is anticipated by many in the community. The annual event includes a fun afternoon and evening filled with wine tastings, appetizers, and shopping at participating downtown stores. You’ll find the Delta College Planetarium within walking distance of the park, which offers incredible star gazing and educational events.
 
Tens of thousands of visitors flock to the shores of the Saginaw River to experience the Tall Ship Celebration. This famed event occurs every three years, and features live music, exclusive deck tours, and many local vendors.
