Things to Do

Saginaw is a hub of art and entertainment in Michigan. The Saginaw Art Museum has long been a community favorite. The museum is a staple for the neighborhood, featuring rotating exhibitions, educational programming, and special events. A true celebration of the city, the Castle Museum of Saginaw is an award-winning and architecturally stunning museum with exhibits related to the history of Saginaw.

Saginaw is also well known for its nature preserves and conservation of animals. Two places locals and visitors can experience this up close are the Saginaw Children’s Zoo and the Shiawasee National Wildlife Refuge.

Since its humble start in 1929, the Saginaw Children's Zoo has been a beloved part of the city. Kids and adults can enjoy and learn about the wildlife rescues and endangered species here. Established in 1953, the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge has 10,000 acres of protected land. It mainly serves as a sanctuary for rare migratory birds, but is also an excellent place for outdoor recreation. Visitors can observe the wildlife along hiking trails or on the water in canoes and kayaks.
